“She’s on the cover because she plays Liz Keen, a kick-ass FBI agent on The Black List; and, for the holiday issue we really like to have beautiful women,” Elizabeth Thorp, Editor-in-Chief of Capitol File, told Hollywood on the Potomac at their annual Christmas Party at 2700 Woodley, a new luxurious rental high-rise adjacent to the Marriott Wardman Park hotel.

“I mean, she is a little bit out of the zone; but, because it’s a number one drama on television right now and allegedly set in Washington, I thought it would be great to have her. And she’s very smart, interesting, and she’s gorgeous. So we chatted with NBC and it worked out. She was really lovely, very low maintenance, easy easy fun, nice person,” Thorp added.

We sort of skipped over most of the part about Pee-Wee Herman playing a bad guy in The Blacklist. “You remember Pee-Wee’s Big Playhouse, don’t you?” asked Thorp. Yup, we do.  “I think he’s on the rise, he’s on the way up. I mean he’s like a brand. I’m actually a little jealous that she’s friends with Pee-Wee Herman.”

“I’ve spent about a year and a half as an action hero on a network television show,” Megan told us as to why she thinks she was selected for the cover. “Capitol File is run by women. There were seven women at the head of the conference table so I think that they probably related to me. The show itself mimics Washington, DC where I am a young FBI agent – Elizabeth Keen.”

We asked about her FBI role’s love life and what was going to happen. “I don’t think she is focused on it,” she said. “She’s not focused on it, she is focused on work.  We have Ron Perlman coming in for a few episodes with us so we are really enjoying turningup  the volume by bringing something even more startling to the audience.” Stay tuned. The Blacklist airs Mondays at 10 PM on NBC.

“Hello people in the front, please gather around for some Yule Tide cheer. I’m seeing some kind of deer in the headlights because you recognize that this is a karaoke machine. It’s karaoke time everybody, come on!” said Thorp
