“The Veterans Civic Health Index is a first of its kind—and it’s an extension of our work to integrate the idea that veterans are leaders and civic assets and to foster a better understanding of their potential. This report can help facilitate a new dialogue in America, one that explores the unique experiences of America’s veterans, in an effort to foster understanding between veterans and civilians and build stronger communities,” according to the mission statement.

The undertaking was initiated by the Got Your 6 campaign and  produced in partnership with the National Conference on Citizenship.

“It’s important for all of us to provide counterpoints to the misconceptions we have been told for years and years,” said Marvin.  It means:  “I’ve got your back. We want people to know that we are not a population that requires services. But a population that has services to offer.”

Hollywood on the Potomac recently covered the Got Your 6 campaign at National Geographic with the First Lady, Chris Marvin and Bradley Cooper.  Click here for full coverage of the campaign.
