September 20, 2012 was the launch of EmBark, Branch and Blossom which is a fundraising organization to support the Festival’s efforts to plant over 1,000 cherry trees in the coming years and to honor the 100-year anniversary of the festival in our nation’s capital.

The reception was  hosted by Carmine’s of Washington and coincides with the restaurant’s second year anniversary.

Diana Mayhew, the President of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, stated “we’re celebrating all the years of tree planting we’ve done in the past and really want to grow (no pun intended) the program to plant 1,000 trees in the next couple of years in honor of this significant anniversary.”

The evening was full of festivities and an abundance of food for which Carmine’s is known who were also celebrating its own success.

General Manager Kris Diemar said that “he looked forward to continuing our relationship with the Cherry Blossom for many years to come.”
