Move over Obamas, there’s a new first family bustling ‘round the White House; the Gilchrests………at least that’s the case in the new NBC comedy 1600 Penn, an off-the-wall look at what it’s like when an average American family faces average American problems, but they also just happen to be the President’s family.
The show stars Bill Pullman and Jenna Elfman as the First couple who face challenges of national security and family unity as they navigate life at America’s most famous address.
The cast and creators breezed into DC to premiere the new show and weigh in on what it’s like to take on these roles, all before a stop at the real White House to screen the show for a special select group.
Pullman joked about his history playing the President in the blockbuster Independence Day and Elfman was aglow with the idea of possibly meeting the real First Lady.
The show premiered this past Thursday, but you can catch it each and every Thursday at 9:30 on NBC.
