DC lounge SAX surprised and stunned on Wednesday evening with the launch of “the privilege list” –a new membership concept bringing exclusive nightlife access to the chosen group lucky enough to make the cut. (Ginuwine with Belvedere by Dave Phillipich shown above).
Known across DC for it’s lavish decor and sometimes controversial artwork, SAX is losing its dinner menu in exchange for a swankier nightlife way of life. Belvedere hosted a wall-to-wall crowd of ‘privileged’ guests who sipped on cocktails and basked in the dim, loud, opera house-esque party that had lots of people talking.
Some were looking for surprise guests and VIPs (like R&B star Ginuwine who mingled through the crowd) and others were entranced by SAX’s signature burlesque show, taking place in a large glass encased stage above the main bar.
The lounge has played host to NBA favorite John Wall and musical artist Trey Songz in the past, so it begs the question whether or not the new list-only policy will drive in more VIPs or not. Were you privileged enough to get inside for the fun?
