“Beyond the Myth takes a powerfully candid look at the media and public bias that surrounds “pit bull-type” dogs, as well as the laws that discriminate against them and their owners. The film allows the audience to experience the fear and frustration of families affected by breed bans, and puts the panic-driven hype into perspective with “real” statistics and first-person accounts. Beyond the Myth is a “must see” documentary for any and all dog lovers.” ~ Jodi Preis, Founder of Bless the Bullys and National Pit Bull Awareness Day.
“You can definitely teach an old dog (or young one) new tricks,” says Canine Behavior and Training Specialist Jenn Guerriero who attended the screening, “but human habits like spoiling the pet can be harder to change. It’s as necessary to practice with your new friend and to enforce – be consistent and loving, of course; it’s as much the humans as the pets that need training. The media has done so much damage to this breed, but when people see these dogs in action its so easy to fall in love with them. It’s not the breed that we need to look at, it’s the individual dog. If we did away with every breed that has ever showed any aggression, we would be a dogless society. Early socialization, boundaries, training and love are the key ingredients to live in harmony with any and all dogs!!!” Big City Dogs training is not just your everyday sit- stay- down approach, but one based on street savvy requirements and plain downright city living common sense.
