ARBITRAGE won’t be out in theaters until September 14th, but there is already Oscar buzz if the private screenings are any indication.
Besides the stellar cast (Susan Sarandon, Richard Gere, Nate Parker, Tim Roth, Brit Marling and Laetitia Casta), don’t overlook the director (Nicholas Jarecki) – an insightful, amusing young man who has put it all together to perfection – and he’s only 33. (shown above)

Nate Parker
It all began at Sundance, where, as GE might say, ” We bring good things to life.” This is a first time feature for Jarecki who claims the film was inspired in part by Vanity Fairs’ The Great Hangover. So all you Vanity Fair readers and Waverly Inn groupies, no, you are not losing it and yes, indeed that is V.F.’s editor, Graydon Carter doing a cameo. By the way, he CAN give up his day job.
Tim Roth – think Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction
Brit Marling
It has all the elements of a great suspense thriller: Love, marriage, family, lovers, deceit, fraud and money, money, money – shake it all up and you get Bernie Maddoff with a different outcome.
Kudos to Jarecki.
