It didn’t take long for Liberty Plaza to get up and running after weather related complications in Tampa at the RNC Convention. They may have missed Sunday and Monday, but by Tuesday country singer Trace Adkins had it steaming.
“When Adkins took the stage, suitably attired in a black cowboy hat and red T-shirt sporting a spread-eagled, um, eagle, the assembled delegates seemed revved despite the late hour.
He launched into More of Us, followed by Whoop a Man’s A– and Swing, a triumvirate of blood pumping tunes, before wallowing a while in woman troubles.
Rebel flag earplugs in place, Adkins rumbled through Marry for Money and This Ain’t No Love Song. And for those RNC delegates who were having none of this battle of the sexes, Liberty Plaza showcased some of Tampa’s finest out in the cigar tent.” Tampa Bay Times
On Wednesday, Kid Rock…….er……..rocked it.
“Rock’s show at Liberty Plaza, the tented insta-venue set up a few blocks from the RNC stronghold at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, was the most buzzed-about gig of the week, and that makes sense: Has such a relevant, swaggering act ever played the RNC? Perry Como he is not.
Thousands stuffed the tent for the man born Bob Ritchie’s raucous 75-minute set. It was a tough ticket to snag, but wow, it was worth the struggle.” Tampa Bay Times
“Liberty Plaza, benefiting Citizens Helping Heroes, hired Journey to play outside the RNC convention at a private venue,” said Bonjean, a spokesman for the RNC convention event space.
