Pardon the ‘fifty shades of gray’ (no pun intended), but Washington weather is unpredictable. What started out as a rainy day in DC turned into a rather sunny one.
So……… somewhere between lunch and dessert, Hollywood on the Potomac decided to bring the interview with author Danielle Rollins outside, but unexpected clouds weaved in and out of the interview causing unpredictable behavior……. just like the weather…….. and Congress …….. and the Presidential race!
So………..please excuse. Next time, we’ll check The Weather Channel.
Rollins is a contributing editor for Veranda, frequent contributor to Southern Living and lifestyle editor for www.luxecrush.com. She is known as a tastemaker who mixes glamour with an accessible flair.
Last night she was feted at a book party at Hickory Hill for the launch of SOIRÉE: Entertaining with Style.
Considered the new “it” girl of entertaining, Veranda calls her a “genuine expert—a natural-born entertainer” and Southern Living proclaims she’s “Atlanta’s preeminent hostess and tastemaker.”
“Her imaginative and dynamic parties range from a cozy Mother’s Day in the Garden to a Gatsby Lawn Party with guests in period attire, to A French Picnic set on the beautiful coast of Cap Ferratt; every party is cleverly conceived, flawlessly executed, and—most of all—great fun.
From signature cocktails (Blood Orange Old Fashioneds, Prosecco with Popsicles) to the imaginative linens, flowers, and menus, Rollins brilliantly executes every detail. Working closely with some of Atlanta’s most esteemed chefs—Anne Quatrano, Clifford Harrison and Kevin Rathburn, she creates mouth-watering menus for each event that readers will find inspiring and easy to replicate at home.” Rizzoli
“The most valuable thing I’ve learned, which I hope you take to heart, is that there is no right or wrong way to throw a party. All you need is a little passion.”—Danielle Rollins from the Introduction
