It was a hard-hitting night of charity and fun for the Annual Fight Night at The Washington Hilton.

Fight Night once again went over the top raising thousands upon thousands of dollars for Fight for Children, a non profit designed to help kids reach their potential and get educated, regardless of income or background.

Boxing legends Larry Holmes and Gerry Cooney gather with fans

As usual, the event drew local politicians, CEOs, VIPs and a host of boxing legends including Larry Holmes, Gerry Cooney, Sugar Ray Leonard and Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini.

Also on hand as the special musical guest for the even was legendary rapper MC Hammer, who was thrilled to support a cause like Fight for Children and took everyone in the room back in time with performances of some of his best hits including ‘Can’t Touch This’.

As in the past, the annual evening was the utmost of boys-club evenings filled with tuxedos, cigars, drinks flowing and rousing rounds of boxing to keep everyone on their toes for a good cause.

Fight Night began back in 1990 when the late Joe Robert was drumming up an idea to raise money for the youths of DC, and since then, the event has grown beyond anyone’s expectations; in 2011, Fight Night raised more than $2 million.
