Selfridges says ‘switch off’ with NO NOISE……..they want you to decompress….a welcome thought as with head into the Obama Inaugural when it is suggested you bike half way to your destination and walk the remaining three miles and hope to see the swearing in ceremony.  Yes, that’s stress.

Selfridges – the Best Department Store in the World, according to the Selfridges folks – launched a No Noise campaign “urging customers to seek out moments of peace and tranquility in a world that bombards us with information and stimulation. The campaign also captures the western world’s focus on detoxing, decluttering, bettering oneself and finding greater well-being so commonplace at the start of a new year.”

So, they want you to shop at Selfridges legendary Silence Room.  “Selfridges’ No Noise is a project which invites customers to find a moment of peace in a world where we are bombarded by a cacophony of information and stimulation. We hope that people will enjoy the restorative qualities of quietness by visiting our Silence Room and by participating in a specially curated programme of quiet experiences.”

So, if you want to shop for that Inaugural Ball gown in peace, just renew your passport, get on the waiting line for a ticket to London, bring a pillow for delays, get your dress in peace and return to DC before the ceremonies start and hope for the best.
