Barbara Blum was a Special Assistant to President Carter and her memories of that time are looked backed on with great fondness.
It’s also evident that she feels he got a bum rap to which to this day she regards as a sad moment in history regarding the Iran hostage situation. “He was good. He was a really good man who got a bum rap,” she said.
Carter, of course, went on to be a great humanitarian for his work with Habitat for Humanity. Each year since 1984, former President Carter and his wife Rosalynn give a week of their time to help build homes for the needy.
