“I have always felt that I have observed life in a different way to others… Music has always been one creative outlet for me, but now I’m happy to add another one too, that being photography”
– Julian
The Creative Coalition hosted a dinner party to celebrate the photography, philanthropy & music of Julian Lennon at Torch Beach at Plage Vegaluna during the Cannes Film Festival.
Hollywood on the Potomac chatted with Robin Bronk, CEO of TCC about their choice of honoree.
“He’s incredibly intelligent and in my opinion a renaissance man,” said Bronk. “He embodies the whole premise of what TCC stands for.”
The Creative Coalition is the premier nonprofit, nonpartisan charity of the arts and entertainment community, dedicated to educating, mobilizing, and activating its members on issues of public importance using the power and platform of the arts and entertainment communities in award-winning public service and advocacy campaigns.
As for the renaissance reference – usually associated with people of a certain age – we are reminded that believe it or not, Julian turned 50 in April. He is the only child of John Lennon and Cynthia Powell.
Considering what Lennon has gone through, we understand him to be a peaceful man who has done his life’s work “his way,” accomplishing on his own merit. He was nominated for a Grammy as best new artist in 1985 with many subsequent albums and concert tours. He has just released his latest album Everything Changes.
“The public is pretty unforgiving,” said Bronk. “No matter who your dad is or who your mom is, it will just get you so far; and, Julian has accomplished on his own.”
Talent and entertainment industry leaders attending the Festival were in attendance made possible through the support of Torch Luxury, connoisseurs of art and taste in luxury consumer events; and Motion Theory and Mirada.

“I am honored that The Creative Coalition has chosen to host an event showcasing my work,” said Lennon. “It means so much to be connected to an organization whose mission seeks to promote awareness on a variety of creative outlets.”

Lennon did not perform at the dinner. “He’s a really modest guy,” Bronk reminded us.
“His vision encompasses all facets of the arts to shed an influential light on important, noteworthy issues. We celebrated his musical talent, appreciate his philanthropic efforts, and showcased his photography.”
“In 2009, Lennon founded The White Feather Foundation, whose mission “embraces environmental and humanitarian issues and in conjunction with partners from around the world helps to raise funds for the betterment of all life, and to honour those who have truly made a difference.”[28] Its name came from a conversation Lennon once had with his father. “Dad once said to me that should he pass away, if there was some way of letting me know he was going to be OK – that we were all going to be OK – the message would come to me in the form of a white feather. … the white feather has always represented peace to me.” Wikipedia
