The Thomson Reuters brunch on the top of the historic Hay Adams Hotel was certainly the perfect end to a fun weekend for many nerd prom celebrants.

The debate at hand as guests munched and sipped on the sunny Sunday was whether or not this year’s Correspondents’ dinner was actually reflecting a dimmed star power. The question was a little tough to swallow with Joe Morton just steps away chatting.

Morton is one of the stars of Scandal – one of the biggest shows on television. But the debate was valid, there was no Sean Penn or Scarlett Johansson or Bradley Cooper—but would those years be so special if they were here all the time?

The fact is this was the 100th annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner and the parties have grown and the whole weekend has evolved and it has become a bit lost that the weekend is really about scholarship and making sure young people continue to study and pursue journalism. That said, back to brunch.

Reuters certainly set the bar high this time around. Sipping mimosas with a view of the White House and what’s the dream for any foodie looking for sustenance after a night of partying?

TOP CHEFS. Bravo had four Top Chef alums on hand cooking some of the most eccentric and delicious bites a person could every want ranging from quail eggs to stuffed scallops to duck scrapple.
