Scarlett Johansson took the box office lead over the weekend as “Lucy” and had one of the highest openings ever for an R-rated action movie starring a female in a sci-fi thriller. “Johansson has burnished her action star credentials playing the Black Widow in “Iron Man 2,” “The Avengers” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The performance of “Lucy” cements her status as a leading lady in the genre.” Production Notes
She’s come a long way, as they say. Hollywood on the Potomac was a guest on the set of one of her earlier movies: My Brother The Pig, to be exact.
She always had the talent according to Philip Botana and Scott Vandiver of Brimstone Entertainment who worked with her on the comedy when she was just 14 in 1999, co-starring Eva Mendes.
“I knew Scarlett was going to be a huge star when I first saw her on camera during filming,” said Vandiver. “She was effortless even at that age with her acting and you could not help but just watch her. She turned 14 during the production and we took her to her favorite restaurant at the time, Benihana’s. Ha, I wonder if that is still her favorite restaurant today. I am glad to have been able to be even a small piece of her wonderful career.”
