“I did have a lot of fun going into the press briefing room this afternoon and starting it as C.J. which was a lot of fun.” Allison Janney told Hollywood on the Potomac at the Sag-Aftra party co-hosted by and at The Washington Post with  SAG-AFTRA, Variety and SAG-AFTRA Foundation for “A Celebration of Journalism” on the eve of the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Claudia Jean Cregg, a.k.a. C. J., is the role she played on the television series The West Wing which earned her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. The character is loosely based on Clinton Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers who served as a consultant to the show. We hear that the real White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest is out pounding the payment looking for another day job.
