“The thing that drove me crazy was the damn buzzer,” Washington Post editorial columnist Jonathan Capehart told Hollywood on the Potomac at a viewing party at Cafe Milano for his round on  “Jeopardy!” during Power Players Week which was taped in front of a live audience at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. earlier in the month. “Jeopardy!” of course is that game show that has been around forever that has one of the most annoying theme songs ever because you can’t get out of your head.  We attached the sheet music below so you can sing along……Excedrin not included.

Alex Trebek has hosted over 7,000 episodes of Jeopardy! and for more than three decades has been engaging millions of viewers worldwide with his delivery of “clues and responses.”

Here are a few examples:

In the “Fictional Boyfriends” category: “As Frau Blucher in “Young Frankenstein” she spoke the line, ‘Yes, yes he was my boyfriend’” (Cloris Leachman). From a 2003 game’s “Cute, Furry, and Deadly” category: “On ‘SNL’, ‘immigrant’ John Belushi learned to say, ‘I would like to feed your fingertips to” this Michigan “glutton.’” Category: The Presidential Oath of office.  In 2013 President Obama was sworn in on 2 Bibles – one with Lincoln’s & one belonged to this man who died 103 years after Lincoln.  Don’t know the answer?

Least we forget, here is the theme song:

Jonathan joined CNN’s Kate Bolduan and comedian Louis C.K. as they vied to win money for their favorite charity.  Capehart chose Sasha Bruce Youth Work that  improves the lives of homeless, runaway, abused and neglected youth and their families in the Washington DC area.  He didn’t disappointed.  Thanks to Jonathan, the SBY received $14,800.

“I had a lot of fun on Jeopardy!,” Capehart told us.  “I thought the questions were going to be the intimidating part, but actually the buzzer drove me crazy. That damn buzzer.  It’s all about the buzzer. You have a very narrow window to actually get through; and they tell you that if you buzz in before the question hasn’t finished being asked, which is about a quarter of a second, – you [lose].”
