Natalie Byrne, Anastasia Dellaccio, Jennie Buehler and Frances Holuba hosted a dazzling cocktail party on this historic night for the Women of Washington, D.C. The toast was in celebration to The United State of Women, a large-scale effort hosted by the White House to rally together over 5,000 advocates of gender equality to highlight what women have achieved, identify the challenges that remain, and chart the course for addressing them.
DTR Modern Galleries in Georgetown houses some of Washington’s most significant collection of works featuring artists such as Chagall, Dali, Matisse, and Warhol, as well as elite contemporary artists. Guests were treated to a live jazz trio featuring a talented young woman named Carla Calderon on jazz vocals. The trio is currently attending Berklee College of Music. Upstairs, 1776 Rye Whiskey Old Fashioned cocktails flowed and as a special goodie bag, Natalie Byne, Head of Global Impact for Dermalogica, supplied guests with makeup bags that support women entrepreneurs through the Dermalogica Fite program.
In keeping with the theme of “supporting women we love” Giuseppe Lanzone, US Olympian and social entrepreneur, sponsored the entire party through his food truck and catering company, Peruvian Brothers. Frosty pisco sours, quinoa salad scoops and warm mini empanadas greeted nearly 150 weary summit goers who passed through for refreshment and good cheer on a warm summer night in Washington.
The toast:
Twas’ a Tuesday in June
and all through the District
Voters gawked at the ballots
Duh, there’s a woman on it!
Cheers to this historic night!
