It was a jaw-dropping “Event Utopia” as the Warner Theatre was transformed into a modern masquerade and brimmed with nearly 75 performers with the relaunch of entertainment planning and production company Pelonkey. Professional ballroom dancers, contortionists, a violinist, stilt walker, futuristic circus performers and blow-up dinosaurs entertained over 600 guests. Washington D.C.’s multimedia personality Tommy McFly emceed the event, while DJ Enferno who toured with Madonna used live audience participation to create a new song on the spot. Other performers included world-renowned mentalist Max Major, the sultry Doc Scantlin singer Chou Chou Scantlin, and of course, Nicole Gallub, Pelonkey’s founder, who is widely known as the pink-haired turned blue-haired DJ Neekola.

Since Gallub launched Pelonkey in 2015, she has gained rapid success, even winning ‘Hottest Showcasing Startup’ in Vegas. Now has she been working to create D.C.’s most high-end and full-service entertainment company with clients such as Amazon and Marriott.”Pelonkey has changed a lot through the years, so I wanted everyone to understand our full offering,” says Gallub. “We fully produce creative, unique entertainment experiences, from concept to logistics to execution. We live and breathe fun!”

While the event featured items like a pink carpet, glow-in-the-dark cotton candy, and an ode to 1920’s Great Gatsby style, the performers were what got the crowd grinning and on their feet. And spotting talented performers comes as second nature to Gallub, who has been a DJ for eleven years.

Having worked with the majority of the individuals Pelonkey utilizes, Gallub stresses the importance of professionalism, more than just talent and artistry. “We know that you could be an amazing performer, but if you can’t get to where we need you in time, or you keep missing important details of your performance, then we won’t be working with you.”

Her goal with Pelonkey is to give performers a more stable, trusted place to work, while at the same time offering corporate event planners top-of-the-line experiences. “We want people to just put on good performances and we will take care of the rest.”
