“I am proud to work for a company that believes in giving back to the community,” said John Audet, Director of Project Development at Case.  “I can tell you that my kids were very eager to help when they found out about The Children’s Inn at NIH and the program it provides for its families. They actually enjoyed soliciting the donations because they knew it was for such a great cause.”

CASE

Case Design/Remodeling, Inc. employees present a check from Case and Fred and Carolyn Case for $5,000 to The Children’s Inn at NIH. Meredith Daley (Volunteer Program Assistant for the Inn) and Laura King (Senior Director of Volunteers and Community Outreach for the Inn) accept the check from Darryl Crosby (Case), Celeste Watts (Case), and Maddie Millholland

Case Design/Remodeling, Inc. held a  Food Drive for The Children’s Inn at NIH. The remodeling firm’s employees joined forces to donate food to this home away from home for children undergoing treatment and their families.  With headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland and an office in Falls Church, Virginia, the recently held food drive is committed to providing a “place like home” for children and their families participating in pediatric research at the National Institutes of Health.

Food

Meredith Daley, Community Outreach & Volunteer Program Assistant at The Children’s Inn at NIH, thanked the Case team for taking the time to host a food drive for the families. “We really appreciate all of the donated items,” said Daley, who added, “everything was perfect.”

The Inn provides lodging and helps these families manage the stress of having a child with a serious illness. In addition to lodging, the Inn provides activities, meals, gifts, comfort, and financial support. At the Inn, there are numerous “Help Yourself Pantries” for residents to use so that they can cook and bake their favorite foods with their families. The Pantries help to relieve the financial burden of grocery shopping, allowing parents to also stay by their child’s side.

“The Children’s Inn truly is a place like home,” said Maddie Millholland, Case’s Marketing Coordinator. “We were so happy we had the opportunity to work with such an inspiring group of people.”

Childrens Inn

Case made three trips to The Children’s Inn, delivering at least 11 big boxes every time. Many Case employees, including Susan Matus and John Audet, both Directors of Project Development, were involved in this effort, which was in honor of past Case clients who were dedicated to this cause. Audet’s children were involved as well, handing out flyers at The Shops at Sumner Place on weekends.

In addition, Case Design/Remodeling and Fred and Carolyn Case made a generous monetary donation
