No Politics – All Party…

There was so much brain power at the Cafritz-Jordan-Sant Inaugural party, had President Obama stopped by he could have put together his new Cabinet in one night.

“I’m looking at the clock right now,” said Andrea Roane, “I should be home in bed right now because we’re on the air at 4 AM tomorrow and I have a 2 AM in time.  But, I did it.  Nice nap today, a long nap.  I’m going to go home, take another shower, do the make-up all over again.  I probably won’t sleep, it probably won’t do any good.  We’re in a great location overlooking the White House and we’re just going to have a great time.”

Lynda Webster came to Washington from Arizona and her blood was thinner than water as she describes it. She had a choice….she could buy a car or a fur coat. She chose the coat.

Her coat is legendary; it has attended more Inaugurals than she has. One recipient even got caught up in a fur protest, had to run down the street and duck into a store.

She and her husband Bill (former FBI and CIA director) are headed to the mountains this year to watch the parade in front of a fireplace. “I’m going to the Inaugural in my bathrobe,” she said. So where is the coat going this year we asked.  “It’s here with me.  So, if anybody decides they’re going to be cold tomorrow and needs a coat, it will be loaned out again to some appreciative friend of mine.”

“Yes, we decided to go to our place in the Blue Ridge Mountains,” Bill added.  “We’ll turn on the television, light a fire, really relax and enjoy it.”

There was no divisive political talk at the Madison Hotel, at least not at this night’s bi-partisan soiree despite the fact that the 600 plus guest list was comprised of Washington’s political elite – maybe all have been here long enough to know that divisiveness takes you no where.  Yup, everyone played nice……
