Fashion’s Night Out is an unprecedented global initiative created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy during recession, and put the fun back in shopping!

So call all the fashionistas!  The biggest and most exciting global fashion event took place in Georgetown, Washington DC.  From getting a VIP treatment at TOKA hair salon, to getting the best discounts in the area, Fashion’s Night Out offered a special shopping event.

“Ah……the VIP party.  Capitol File never disappoints.

In the alley by Dean & DeLuca, they threw a bash complete with so many fabulous amount of flashbulbs………what one might even call ‘Paparazzi,’ as well as the requisite champagne, cushy seating areas, DJ and all the acoutrements.

The crowd?  GT chic.  From over the top lace covered gowns (hello? Polyester……..I hope it doesn’t melt in the heat) to vintage frocs, the party was the perfect kick off to the evening’s events.

We don’t know about you, but let’s face it–hand folks several glasses of wine, champagne and other spirits, and you can be sure the retailers will have a good night.

Thank you Capitol File….thank you.  Our credit cards in hand, we ventured from your bash out to the fray. but not before dropping three digits in food from the adjacent Dean & Deluca.  Because once we try things on, we can have dinner & dessert.

Shopping sprees, makeovers, fashion shows, modeling, giveaways, and a chance to get the scoop on fall fashion trends, that is what Fashion’s Night Out is all about.” contributor Wendy Gordon

Boutiques and salons throughout the Historic Georgetown transformed Washington into a fashion playground – offering events, music, food, live models, appearances from local celebrities, stylish surprises and of course, lots of shopping!

“If you are not from the area, definitely Fashion Night Out is a unique experience.

I went to TOKA hair salon with my friends and I feel like a diva (something that is just allowed on a special occasion such as tonight); my hair looked amazing! It was like if was done by the gods! And all the VIP treatment, the champagne and the attention: free! So definitely if we’re talking fashion, meeting celebrities, and shopping, shopping, shopping! Fashion Night out is the event that you should definitely go! Georgetown in the definitive place you have to go” – Maria Fernanda Giron, Hollywood on the Potomac Intern

“It being my first time attending Fashion’s Night Out, I had no idea what to expect. I thought it would be just great sales, and it was that, but MUCH more.

Walking down Georgetown you felt like a celebrity. There were live models everywhere you looked, and VIP parties with the latest fall fashions. The stores had outrageous sales, and many giveaways. Fashion’s Night Out in Washington DC exceeded my expectations, and I promise it will exceed yours too!” –Rebecca Fernandez, Hollywood on the Potomac Intern
