News legend Tom Brokaw and award-winning actor Gary Sinise were among some of the biggest names out in DC on Tuesday night for the annual Advocacy Awards presented by Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA. Both men, along with Citi’s Candi Wolff, were being honored for their commitment to veterans advocacy and support of the military.

Gary Sinise, who many know for his acting role as Lt. Dan in the film Forrest Gump is actually a long-time passionate advocate for military issues who is in Washington quite often. “I act in California, that’s where my job is. When I come here it’s usually related to military or some sort of service charity.”
Hollywood on the Potomac chatted with the honorees to discuss the challenges facing veterans in today’s society and get an assessment about why these are issues that they are passionate about.
