Fury was the name of the game in Washington, DC on October 15th that began in the form of a tornado that hit up the area mid-day then landed at The Newseum by early evening in the form of the premiere of “Fury” starring Brad Pitt.
The stars and crew were on hand to tout the military epic and rub elbows with a parade of military figures including Lt. General H.R. McMaster and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

We weren’t surprised by the praise lavished on Pitt by his co-stars, nor were we when someone asked how his kids feel about his recent marriage to Angelina Jolie. That was PEOPLE magazine to do the honors to which Pitt responded: “They like it. They like it.” Pitt, by all accounts, is a very hands on dad and also very supportive of his wife’s career. In 2012 he accompanied Jolie to her DC premiere for The Land of Blood and Honey.
The evening also built awareness for Blue Star Families which was started by military spouses to advocate for the challenges of military life. Pitt humbly posed for photos with military members and even stopped for snaps with some soggy fans awaiting his arrival outside the premiere.
Vice President Joe Biden and wife, Dr. Jill Biden also made an appearance at the event. Dr. Biden, of course, has partnered with First Lady Michelle Obama on the Joining Forces initiative to support military families and veterans in the past.
FURY opens in theaters on Friday, October 17th
