Feathers and fringe were in full effect Friday night as Greg’s List DC and What Do I Wear celebrated the upcoming opening of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby movie, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire.
The sold-out crowd of 200 guests went all-out with the theme, wearing everything from tuxes to tweed, feathered or rhinestone headbands, long pearls and many other interpretations of the flapper-era. Movie posters and some ticket giveaways helped promote the film.
A Vintage Rolls Royce parked outside the SunTrust Bank Building got the theme rolling quickly as guests made their way to the Penthouse floor. A photo booth and cocktail lessons by Bombay Sapphire helped keep party-goers entertained when they weren’t on the dance floor.
Greg’s list founder Greg O’Neill and WhatdoIwear.com editor Joel Cas paired up on their first-sponsored event to celebrate the movie’s premiere May 10.
