Washington’s signature heat and humidity might already be here, but the owners of Dupont Circle’s new Kabin want you to feel like you’re on a winter getaway.
While guests at a VIP Preview Party had on sandals, Kabin’s attractive hostesses sported fur covered boots – showing just how closely they watch for details at the new night spot. Owners Kunal Shah, Vinoda Basnayake, Dustin Huynh and Rajeev Subramanian want guests to experience a taste of the alpine on the East Coast. Antler chandeliers give the dark space an upscale ski lodge feel while the signature “shot of the three pins” invokes the classic apres-ski tradition of a herb-based concoction named for the pins of a skiers boot. It’s a strong shot with a distinct cardamom flavor and one of those types of shots where you know it contains a lot of alcohol but you can’t taste any of it.

Wooden animal heads keep watch over the DJ booth and the VIP areas have a private enough feel where you can relax but still see the rest of the club at the same time.
Kabin opens to the public on June 29.
