“She was a person of tremendous anxiety, tremendous nerves and nervousness,” Cynthia Nixon told Hollywood on the Potomac while discussing how she prepared for her role as Nancy Reagan in Bill O’Reilly’s “Killing Reagan” which premiered at The Newseum in Washington, DC, presented by National Geographic Channel.
Mrs. Reagan was famous for her adoring stare directed toward her husband Ronald Wilson Reagan, The 40th President of the United States, often referred to as The Glaze. “I worked on it,” Nixon claims on adopting The Stare, but didn’t practice in the mirror. “You should never as an actor work in the mirror. That was a real challenge.”

This is the fifth in the ‘killing series’ for O’Reilly and will hit theaters on October 16th prior to the 2016 Presidential elections. Intentional was his response to the timing issue. “It’s all about commercialism and putting your film in a slot that most people will watch it in. It’s just a business decision.” So, does he ever sleep? “I like all this. This is fun for me.”
Bill O’Reilly
“He treated the Presidency like a performance,” responded Tim Matheson, the charismatic actor who portrayed President Reagan, when we asked which Reagan he most related to – the actor or the President. “He was aware of the stagecraft of a speech from the Oval office to an evening ceremony ….. he just knew that the best way to communicate was the stagecraft.”
Tim Matheson
For those of us who were here during the Reagan Administration and often sat in the same room as Nancy Reagan at The Jockey Club or attended their many social events at the White House, it was an eerie experience. We also had a personal connection to all of the players as well as being in Washington on that fateful attempted assassination day in 1981 by John Hinckley, Jr. at The Washington Hilton, now referred to as the Hinckley Hilton. We were particularly fascinated by Kyle Moore’s brilliant performance as Hinckley as he discusses his recent release from St. Elizabeth’s hospital in the below video.
