There’s a different kind of heat wave going on in Europe…..it’s called Laurel.

Their motto, “La Dolce Vita!,” works, but what’s up with the fashion presentation of their spring/summer collection for 2013?  We’re still just getting around to 2012.

As part of the Berlin Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, guests were swept away into the world of the sixties Italian jet set. “The collection exudes pure joie de vivre with its connotations of summer, sun, sea and endless walks along the beach,” according to Elisabeth Schwaiger, Laurèl Head of Design.

“The theme of the collection is intimately linked to the famous film of the same name by Federico Fellini.  Laurèl also presents beautiful women hounded by paparazzi who are part of the show, satirizing the pursuit of the rich and beautiful.

The birth of the Italian Cinecittà went hand in hand with an inspiring and electrifying cosmopolitan atmosphere. What would Sophia Loren have packed in her suitcases when she went from San Remo from Portofino, and from Rome to Positano and Capri?

And what does she take with her when she is picked up by Aristoteles Onassis and they travel on to Greece on his yacht? Laurèl has answered these questions in a new, modern style with a 2013 spring/summer collection brimming over with euphoria and a yearning for faraway places.”

Wow, okay, we’re jealous and don’t care if they are showing for 2015.  Next year, we’ll be there!

We didn’t recognize the guest list of the many stars in attendance, but we did take note of Jason Lewis (Samantha’s young lover Smith from Sex and the City, shown in the audience above).
