Leprechaun Leap!

Leprechaun Leap!

There were lots of Leprechauns cavorting in Georgetown over the weekend in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.  Leprechauns are fairys in Irish folklore who enjoy partakying in mischief – so you see where this is going.

Georgetown’s 2nd Annual Leprechaun Leap offered a variety of fun tasks to be completed by teams of 2-4 people.  Nearly a dozen teams signed up for the event which featured tasks at three of Georgetown’s most popular restaurants: Old Glory, Paolo’s, and J. Paul’s.

The event started with team sign up, which included t-shirts for each team to design as well as coupons for free St. Patty’s beer, dyed green in honor of the day.  Once the event started, teams used a check list of tasks to be completed at each restaurant.  Each task was assigned a point value, and teams with the most points at the end of the day were eligible for first, second or third place prizes.

The competition ranged from simple to wild, with tasks like checking in to the restaurant via Facebook to eating a full plate of nachos in under ten minutes…without using your hands. There was certainly no shortage of “Kodak moments,” as documented by the Team Leaders (keep an eye out for those on Facebook later this week).

First place went to a team of four, who were able to complete every task at every restaurant.

The lucky winners took home Nationals and Capitals tickets, as well as gift certificates to CRC Restaurant Group, and a bucket full of other swag.  Second place winners took home courtside Wizard’s tickets and a CRC gift certificate, whereas third place winners walked away with a gift certificate, as well.

Lots of fairy dust was observed in their wake.
