Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton received the American Patriot Award from the National Defense University Foundation (NDU) at a Gala held at The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC.

Under the direction of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, the NDU is uniquely positioned to integrate public, private and international partners to effectively prepare military and civilian leaders from the U.S. and over 60 other countries to serve as tomorrow’s strategic national security decision and policy makers.
Past American Patriot Award honorees include: President George H.W. Bush, Dr. Robert Gates, The Honorable Henry Kissinger, Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman, General Colin Powell and Admiral William McRaven on behalf of the troops of United States Special Operations Command.
