The evening ended on a lighter note with the arrival of Piers Morgan. He dished to Niteside about why Madonna would not be among his primed choice of guests: “There’s no point”, he joked. “Lady Gaga’s arrived. so why have the old one.
We need a new model. Madonna and I go back a long way and not very satisfactory really. I am kind of banning her before she refuses to come on.” It’s a chicken and egg situation, he explained and doesn’t want to test it. “I’d rather be the chicken.”
