“Washington speaks in tongues, so if you don’t know what SAR and DAR stand for, we are not surprised. So, we’re going to spell it out for you. There are Sons of the American Revolution and Daughters of the American Revolution and in this case it would be DCSAR and DCDAR….and assume you know what DC stands for. We’ll get to the DNA later.

(DCSSAR) held their First Annual Sweethearts and Patriots Gala at the historic City Tavern Club in the heart of Georgetown. Attendees enjoyed an open bar, desserts, dancing, socializing, and the opportunity to bid on incredible items at the silent auction. “We were thrilled by the success of this event,” said Carl Bedell, Chair of the Host Committee. “It was a very unique evening and we are thankful for the tremendous amount of support shown by members of DC’s young professional community.”

The evening proceeds benefited Luke’s Wings which promotes patriotism, historic preservation and America’s service men and women. The focus on helping wounded servicemen has been a high priority in recent years for young members of the non-profit, non-political service organization. DCSAR’s Fletcher Gill, CEO of Luke’s Wings, was presented the DAR Medal of Honor, recognizing his work to support wounded service members.
