So Others Might Eat hosted its 26th Annual Gala and Auction at the National Building Museum honoring CBS Anchor Bob Schieffer and his wife Pat who received SOME’s 2012 McKenna Humanitarians Award.
Schieffer, who has his own band – Honky Tonk Confidential – joined the musical act “The Unexpected Boys ” backstage.
SOME originally started as a humble soup kitchen, serving the hungry and homeless of Washington. It has become a comprehensive social service agency, providing housing, healthcare, job training, addiction treatment and food, for the homeless, elderly and mentally ill in our area. This year, the event was chaired by General Motors CEO Daniel Akerson and Karin Akerson.

Proceeds from the SOME Gala will provide housing to homeless families and single adults, including homeless veterans and their families.
