“The new Capella Hotel, a sweet spot between K and M Streets, combines traditional comforts like a curved wooden desk and swooping free-standing bathtub and tech amenities like bedside outlets for electronic devices. Pleasant thoughts after a night in a spacious, king deluxe suite overlooking the canal: dark, gleaming wood floor, luxe thread-count bedding, contemporary (German-design) furnishings plus touch pad controls for illumination and opening/closing the curtains. Samples of chef Jacob Esko’s handiwork promise fine dining in The Grill Room.” Jean Cohen

Legendary Hotelier Horst Schulze unveiled the new Capella Hotel in Georgetown, one of Washington’s most anticipated hotel openings..
Horst Schulze, Chairman & CEO of Capella Hotels and Resorts and Bruce F. Bradley of Castleton Hotel Partners I, LLC, the hotel’s owners celebrated the opening of Capella’s first U.S. branded hotel.
“The intimate hotel is ideally located adjacent to the historic C&O Canal in Georgetown and features 49-rooms and suites, including two majestic Presidential Suites. The overall design of the hotel is inspired by the history of American architecture and the designer, Peter Silling brought the hotel to life by depicting the evolution of this genre through the use of original contemporary art and furniture design blended with the more classic feel of the brownstone building’s industrial exterior. Timeless pewter and gold tones are carried throughout the hotel and into the individually designed guest rooms, which have been crafted to resemble elegant private residences.” Capella Hotel
