“Is fracking polluting our water? How dangerous is nuclear? Will gasoline prices continue to rise? Can we really clean up coal? Can renewables really power our future?
SWITCH delivers straight answers to today’s most controversial energy questions, as energy visionary Dr. Scott Tinker travels the world, exploring leading energy sites, from coal to solar, oil to biofuels, most of them highly restricted and never before seen on film. He seeks the truth from the international leaders of government, industry and academia, then cuts through the confusion to discover a path to our energy future as surprising as it is practical.
Audiences have called SWITCH “the first truly balanced energy film” and “the most important energy film since An Inconvenient Truth.” As no documentary before it, SWITCH has been embraced and supported by people across the energy spectrum: environmentalists and academics, fossil and renewable energy experts, scientists and economists. The film was invited to or selected for 7 environmental film festivals, while being a Featured Presentation at oil industry and professional conferences.
“Over the 30 years I’ve been in renewable energy, SWITCH is the most comprehensive and balanced documentary I’ve ever seen.” Phil Dutton, GL Garrad Hassan
SWITCH sidesteps the politics to deliver the straight answers on energy.
SWITCH is part of the Switch Energy Project (www.switchenergyproject.com), a multi-pronged effort to build a global understanding of energy.
The project was created by Arcos Films, directed by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Harry Lynch and coproduced with energy expert Dr. Scott Tinker.
It includes the film, a continually expanding website of 300 videos on the energy topics that drive our world; a university screening and energy efficiency program co-developed with the Geological Society of America; a primary school education program of videos and curricula co-developed with the American Geological Institute; and eventually a broadcast series to discover solutions to our most pressing energy challenges.
The Switch Energy Project is one of the world’s only resources where audiences can find objective, trustworthy energy answers, in an engaging, accessible video format.” Production notes.
SWITCH opens on September 16th at the Landmark E Street Theatre.
