“Only a man would ask that question,” responded actress Kim Cattrall when asked by moderator Jeffrey Brown of PBS NewsHour what was happening during the aging process at the DC screening of “The Boomer List” at the Newseum.
“Tonight we are going to hear from three of the people featured in the exhibit – environmentalist Erin Brockovich, actress Kim Cattrall, historian Juleanna Richardson – as well as the man behind the portraits, photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. We’ll get their thoughts on the influence and the impact of the Boomer generation.” said James Duff, CEO of the Newseum.

“For the past year, AARP has been shining a light on it’s Boomers and 50+ as we celebrate the last of the ‘Boomers’ turning 50. As AARP’s first Boomer CEO, I was born in the year that AARP was founded. I think of the ‘Boomers’ as the AARP generation,” said AARP CEO Jo Ann Jenkins. “The ‘Boomers’ are an incredibly diverse generation of people who still want to live life on their own terms, who still want to make a difference, and who still believe that they can change the world. For the next nine months, visitors to the museum can explore the changes, achievements, struggles and contributions of the Baby Boomer Generation as portrayed through Timothy’s iconic profiles. They will be able to see for themselves that the ‘Boomers’ aren’t done yet. They are changing and re-imagining aging as they have every other stage of life they have encountered. They’re still living in ways that reflect the attitudes, activism and aspirations of their remarkable generation, leaving an extraordinary legacy for future generations.”
“I was in the process of a lot of things,” noted historian Juleanna Richardson said, “with my non profit, but have always claimed that 1954 was the best year. I always heard that we were the largest group (boomers) and I have always taken a lot of pride in that generation; so I was pleased to be asked to be a part of this.”
