“With my first book, I heard from a lot of people that it did not have enough sex,” author Karin Tanabe told Hollywood on the Potomac at a book party in her honor hosted by Kathryn Stack, Victoria Stack and Hastie Afkhami at the home of Victoria Stack in Georgetown.
“I was like…..okay…..so in my second book, I went about making a hunkier (don’t ask) male protagonist. So I hopefully did a good job at that and it’s much more a love story than I wrote in my first book – so that was a fun challenge too.”

“In this enthralling new novel from the author of The List (a “smartly paced and dishy debut,” Publishers Weekly, starred review), a young woman working in the high-end art world stumbles upon a rare antique—and an irresistible man with a dark past. “The Price of Inheritance is a rare find of a novel. Engaging, suspenseful, and full of intrigue, it delves into the elite world of big bucks deals and dangerous black market promises, where one woman must decide whether she’s willing to gamble her greatest asset—her heart.” Publishers Weekly
Tanabe is a Washington based travel writer, columnist, social chronicler-turned-novelist who looks like she just stepped out of a romance novel.
