The Gryphon: Not Your Average Sports Bar
People came out in droves to experience The Gryphon, Dupont’s first sports bar/gastropub – and boy did it deliver!
Located just blocks from the metro The Gryphon, whose name refers to a legendary creature with the body of a lion and wings and head of an eagle, offers an experience like few others bar/restaurants in the city.
With nearly 5,000 square feet for guests to eat, drink, and cheer on their favorite sports teams on over 30 screens, the Gryphon made the night anyone’s game.

The Gryphon isn’t just unique in its atmosphere, with its lounge style seating and dark wooden decor, it offers some unique menu options as well.

As manager Jordan Cappolla enthused, “you’ve got to try the gator. The gator is a game changer.” DCFud writer Jason Yaskoir spoke highly of the food, especially recommending the burger sliders, while several bartenders agreed that the Korean braised short rib taco was the favorite (both delivered).
