Voto Latino’s María Teresa Kumar, who co-founded the organization with Rosario Dawson and has become a vital moving part for Lations, co-hosted the event with David Sutphen for the 5th Annual “Our Voices: Celebrating Diversity in Media” reception on the rooftop of The Hay-Adams Hotel, a stone’s throw from the White House.
Honorary Host Wilmer Valderrama spoke to an audience that included MSNBC Host Karen Finney, Washington Post Columnist and MSNBC Contributor Jonathan Capehart, Reggie Love, CNN Anchor Suzanne Malveaux, Political Commentator Jamal Simmons and Huffington Post’s Miguel Ferrer.
