Everyone knows it’s Washington, DC’s tastiest night of the year, the annual awards gala for the Restaurant Association of Metro Washington, the RAMMY’s
The sumptuous evening has become a staple celebration for members and supporters of the restaurant industry who get together each year to toast one another and celebrate the growth and expansion of their industry.
This year marked expansive growth both for the industry and the gala. Hundreds of restaurants have sprung up across the city from the South West Waterfront to the 14th Street Corridor and every corner and neighborhood in between, so it is only fitting that the RAMMYs would follow suit.

The yearly awards found a new home this year at The Washington Convention Center, welcoming more than 1,800 celebrants to eat, drink, dance, shout and cheer in the name of DC’s food scene.
The evening included several new categories for awards and the response from both judges and public votes showed a variety of new favorites within the District. Everyone from owners to servers and busboys packed the spacious ballroom to support their favorite spots and share a collective pat on the back for the way DC has let its hospitality industry boom.
The food was tantalizing, the drinks exotic and the music riveting. There was nowhere to hide from this party, late into the night. The good news is, even with all the revelry, it looks like all the top notch eateries managed to make it in the next day for the sake of their own (and their customers’) appetites.
