Gloria Dittus and Cathy Merrill have both played influential roles in promoting women in journalism, leveraging their positions to support and advance women’s presence and influence in the field.  Through their work, they have ensured that women’s stories and issues are given prominence, contributing to a more balanced and representative media landscape. Their efforts have had a positive impact on the representation and advancement of women in the field.

The 11th annual Washington Women in Journalism Awards took place at the Larz Anderson House in Washington, D.C. Jointly hosted by Washingtonian President and CEO Catherine Merrill and Story Partners’ Founder and Chairman Gloria Story Dittus, the event honored four of Washington’s top female political reporters across four categories, including: 

·        Kara Swisher, Vox Media/Podcaster with the Hall of Fame Achievement Award
·        Rachel Scott, Senior Congressional Correspondent, ABC as Outstanding
·        Carol Leonnig, National Investigative Reporter, The Washington Post
·        Meridith McGraw, National Political Correspondent, Politico as a Star to Watch
